The Great Resignation is Accelerating

The Great Resignation is reaching new heights. In September, 4.4 million people quit their jobs and that number appears to be getting worse with each passing day!

Great Resignation Accelerating

The food service and retail industries appear to be loosing workers at the highest rates. A total of 863,000 workers in food service and 685,000 in retail quit their jobs in September, at rates of 6.6% and 4.4%, respectively.

According to a Digital.com survey, 44% said they quit because they are "looking for more competitive wages and benefits."

Side note: Wouldn’t it make more sense to quit AFTER they find that higher paying job?

Anyways...

Another 32% said they quit to start their own businesses, and the majority (62%) said they quit specifically to have more control over their lives.

The accelerating resignation is certainly consuming the minds of CEOs. According to a Fortune's survey 51% of CEOs said they’re worried about "attracting and recruiting talent," and 35% reported they’ve offered more benefits in the last year to compensate.
